Connect your Twitter account to Tona and start publishing content, building threads, and tracking how your audience grows over time.

Connecting Your Account

Getting started takes just a few seconds:

1. Go to your project and click Add Platform.
2. Select X from the list.
3. You will be redirected to Twitter to authorize access.
4. Once approved, you will be sent back to Tona and your account is ready to go.

If you ever need to reconnect (for example, after revoking access on Twitter), a Reconnect button will appear on your dashboard.

What You Can Do

Once connected, Tona gives you powerful tools for Twitter:

• Publish tweets directly from your dashboard or let Tona's AI draft them for you.
• Schedule posts to go out at the best times for your audience.
• Create threads of up to 3 tweets when you need more room to tell your story.
• Reply to tweets to engage with your audience and join conversations.
• Quote tweets to add your take on someone else's post.
• Attach images and videos to make your posts stand out.

Dashboard

Your Twitter dashboard gives you a quick snapshot of your account:

• Followers and Following counts
• Tweets published through Tona
• Publishing history with status, content previews, and timestamps

Use the History tab to browse everything you have posted, filter by status, and review any details.

Analytics

Tona automatically tracks engagement for your tweets. When you enable the Tweet Metrics plugin, the AI can access analytics data to make smarter content decisions:

• Conversation threads - View the full reply chain of any tweet to understand context.
• Engagement metrics - Track impressions, likes, retweets, replies, quotes, and bookmarks over time.
• Home timeline - Browse your Twitter/X feed to stay on top of what is happening.
• User posts search - Look up recent posts from any public account by username.

Tona collects metrics automatically every hour for tweets published in the last 7 days, so you always have fresh data to work with.

Persona

Customize how Tona's AI writes for your Twitter account under the Persona tab:

Objective

Tell the AI what you want to achieve on Twitter. By default, it uses your project-level objective, but you can set a custom one just for this account.

Personality

Control the tone and voice of your tweets. Keep the project default or give this Twitter account its own unique personality.

The AI automatically follows Twitter best practices: staying within the 280-character limit, keeping posts mobile-friendly, and avoiding spammy tactics like hashtag stuffing.
